Krodhasura’s Aspirations and Journey
Once upon a time, a demon named Krodhasura, after seeking the guidance of Shukracharya, became determined to achieve greatness. Delighted with his marriage to Preeti, the daughter of Shambarasura, Krodhasura initially lived a content life. However, his ambition to conquer the three worlds grew stronger.
Krodhasura approached his guru, Shukracharya, expressing his desire to dominate the universe. The sage instructed him to chant the mantra ‘Ghrini Surya Aditya Om’ to win the favor of Lord Bhaskar (the Sun God). With unwavering devotion, Krodhasura undertook severe penance in a secluded forest, enduring extreme hardships.
Lord Sun Grants Krodhasura His Wish
Pleased by Krodhasura’s intense penance, Lord Sun appeared and granted him immense strength, valor, wealth, and invincibility. Armed with these divine boons, Krodhasura returned to his guru, who crowned him the ruler of the demons.
Krodhasura’s Quest for Power
Fueled by his newfound power, Krodhasura embarked on a campaign of conquest. He swiftly subjugated Earth and its kings, then moved on to the celestial realm of Amravati, defeating Indra. Emboldened, he set his sights on Vaikuntha and Kailasa.
Krodhasura Challenges the Supreme Lord
The gods, troubled by Krodhasura’s tyranny, turned to Lord Lambodar (an incarnation of Lord Ganesha) for help. Lambodar appeared, prepared to confront the demon. Krodhasura mocked Lord Lambodar, unaware of the divine power he faced.
The Wisdom of Lord Lambodar
Lord Lambodar laughed and revealed the nature of his supreme power, explaining:
- “In my left side is the power of illusion, which entices all beings.”
- “In my right side is the intellect, the carrier of illusion.”
He declared himself the master of these powers, embodying the Supreme Soul residing in all beings.
The Battle Between Lambodar and Krodhasura
A fierce battle ensued between Krodhasura’s forces and the divine army led by Lord Lambodar. The demon’s allies, including powerful warriors like Ravana and Kumbhkarna, were defeated. Finally, Lord Lambodar faced Krodhasura and vanquished him, ending his reign of terror.
The Revelation of Krodhasura’s Origin
Shukracharya, using his meditation, revealed the truth about Krodhasura’s birth. He explained, “You are the son of Lord Shiva, born from his anger, and your name reflects your origin. However, your arrogance and misuse of power have led to your downfall.”
Peace Restored
With Krodhasura defeated, Lord Lambodar restored peace and protected the gods from further harm. His divine intervention upheld the balance of the universe, reaffirming his role as the protector of dharma.
