Our History and Sacred Murti

The temple was founded by a dedicated group of devotees who shared a singular vision: to preserve our rich heritage and provide a sanctuary for worship and reflection. At the heart of our mandir is a beautiful statue of Lord Ganesha, meticulously crafted and brought from India to be installed during our inaugural ceremony. This sacred murti remains the centerpiece of our spiritual life, inspiring devotion in all who visit.

Over the years, the Shri Ganesh Mandir has evolved into a vital cultural center. We host a variety of religious and cultural events, including:

• By Car: From Melbourne CBD, take the West Gate Freeway and follow signs for Werribee. Continue onto the Princes Hwy, then turn right onto Derrimut Rd. Continue until you reach the intersection with Heaths Rd, turn right, and the temple will be on your left-hand side.

• By Public Transport: Take a train from Melbourne CBD to Werribee Station (Werribee Line). The temple is approximately 5km from the station; you can easily complete your journey with a short taxi or bus ride.

• By Air: For visitors flying in, Melbourne Airport is approximately 40km away. Ride-sharing services and taxis are readily available to transport you directly to the temple.
