There are many stories that involve Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu, two of the most important deities in Hinduism. One such story is as follows:
Once, Lord Vishnu was performing a yajna (a Hindu ritual) and had invited many gods, including Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha arrived at the yajna and was greeted by Lord Vishnu. However, Lord Vishnu did not show much respect towards Lord Ganesha, as he believed that Lord Ganesha was just a son of Lord Shiva and Parvati and not as important as the other gods.
Lord Ganesha was hurt by Lord Vishnu’s behavior, but he remained calm and composed. As the yajna progressed, Lord Vishnu needed some holy water for the ceremony. He called upon Lord Ganesha to bring the water for him.
Lord Ganesha agreed and went to fetch the water. However, he took a long time to return, and Lord Vishnu became impatient. He asked the other gods to go and check on Lord Ganesha.
The other gods found Lord Ganesha sitting by the side of the river, holding the pot of water. They asked him why he was not returning to the yajna. Lord Ganesha replied that he could not return with the water as Lord Vishnu had not shown him respect.
The other gods were shocked and told Lord Vishnu about Lord Ganesha’s refusal to return. Lord Vishnu immediately realized his mistake and went to apologize to Lord Ganesha.
Lord Ganesha forgave Lord Vishnu, and the yajna was completed successfully. From that day onwards, Lord Vishnu showed great respect towards Lord Ganesha, and the two became good friends.
The story of Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu teaches us the importance of respecting all beings, regardless of their status. It also teaches us that even the most powerful beings can make mistakes and should be willing to apologize and seek forgiveness.
